Sunlight on the Waves (Open)

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true][bg=ffffff] A feeling of being free... When you can leap from the water and glide through the air as happy as a bird. It's almost a feeling like flying... The sun shone down in the midday sky, setting the water to a dazzling bright blue. The waters seemed to shine with a brilliance far beyond that of the sun. It probably would give the impression of being quite warm as well, however, this was untrue. Below the waves, while it was warmer than usual, it was still quite a pleasant temperature. Not too warm and not too cold either. Although any of that pleasant water temperature was lost upon anyone who would probably be using the time to breach. A dark shape leaped out of the water and seemed to hang suspended from the air. A flash of white showed before the creature plummeted down back into the blue depths, only to reappear again in another spot further along. This time the animal turned a somersault in the air and landed beak-first back into the water. Under the waves the creature turned more somersaults and let off a few happy clicks. Breaching was so much fun! You could turn in the air and feel a feeling almost like flying. What a rush! The dark dolphin zoomed through the water to build up speed. Then, she rushed to the surface and leaped. She could feel the rush of wind in her face and she could feel the sun as it glinted off of her wet hide. She smiled as she sailed through the air, even when gravity took over and she started plummeting to the waves she was still smiling. A rush of bubbles and then she was back in her element. She squirmed happily and swam around quickly in circles. At the moment the dolphin was happy, doing one of your favorite things had a tendency to put you in a good mood. The only thing that could make it better would be if someone else showed up! She would love to talk to someone at the moment! The dolphin stopped swimming around for a split second to look around. Was that a shape she saw approaching? Who knew? You'd have to wait until it got closer. So, the dolphin resumed her circle-swimming.

[atrb=background,http://i49.tinypic.com/2wo91jn.jpg] Arrow shot upwards towards the golden afternoon light. He surfaced briefly for a breath of air. The rays of the warm sun blasted him in the face. He was about to dive down again, but something stopped him. He longed to plummet down into the water again, but he felt the presence of another dolphin. Arrow turned around. There was a nice looking dusky dolphin playing in the waves not far off. A little game of tag wouldn't do any harm, he decided. After all, he needed to burn some energy. Like lightning he bolted through the water over to the she-dolphin. He didn't feel like she needed a formal introduction. "Good morning. I'm Arrow, by the way." he recognized her as a Dolphin Creed Assassin. "Hey, I know you! Up for a game of tag?" Arrow felt like a calf again. He raced away from the dolphin, doing a somersault and looping around back to her. Arrow noticed that she was very pretty. "You look like a nice dolphin," he commented. "I'd like to get to know you better. Why don't we go for a swim?" He glanced at the dusky dolphin, expecting an answer.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true][bg=ffffff] Lokee stopped swimming in circles and watched the other creature approach. It was another dolphin! Yay! As the other neared she saw that he was the Second. She didn't really know his name though... However, when he got closer he spoke his name. "Good morning to you too, Arrow." She smiled brightly as her ebony eyes watched him. "I'm Lokee and of course, I'd love to play tag!" She saw him zoom away from her. She kicked her tail fin and started after him but the male was already headed back to her. As he passed around behind her a thought raced into her mind. Boy, he's fast! And he seems really really fun to be around! "You look like a nice dolphin." Lokee smiled even bigger. She was starting to like this dolphin already. He seemed nice himself... a good dolphin to be around. He even seemed like he liked to play! "I'd like to get to know you better. Why don't we go for a swim?" The she-dolphin bobbed her head up and down in a nod. "Yes yes! We could swim and talk and from talking we'll learn more about each other! Isn't that nice? It'll be fun!" Without waiting anymore she swam slowly around him at first. Then, with a playful wink she swam away. Going close to the surface of the water so her dorsal fin would show like a shark's. She wasn't going very fast and she expected the other dolphin to be following her.

He could tell that they liked each other. She was just the kind of friend he could play with every day and never get bored with! "I'll tell you some of my history," he suggested. Arrow slowed down a little. He began to tell his story. "I used to live in a big pod with my family. But unfortunately we were caught up in a storm. So-" He broke off. After a brief moment he started again. "I was the only one rescued, so my sister, mother, and father could be anywhere by now..." He stopped for a moment. He couldn't be sad in front of Lokee, could he? He didn't want to give her the impression that he was sensitive. After all, he had gotten over it, right? "So, how did you get here?" he asked. "Well, of course you were dumped by the humans, but tell me a little about your past."

Although she did look... maybe once, twice, more than that maybe... who knew but she? Besides she was doing it inconspicuously, right? If moving your whole head to to the side as you were looking was inconspicuous. Did he like her? She hoped so since she liked him! "I'll tell you some of my history," Lokee nodded. "That sounds alright." It really did. If they were going to be friends they had to know a little about each other, right? Wait. Friends! That's would they could be! Friends! What a wonderful thing! Taken into someone else's confidence and being trusted by them. That was really nice. Lokee slowed so she could swim alongside Arrow without leaving him behind. She listened to his story and blinked sympathetically at him. That sounded rough. Losing his family... if only something like that could have happened with her instead of... what happened. Was that a slight pang of remorse she felt? For what she had done to her father? No! Of course not... Why would she feel that? He had deserved it! But he was your father... A voice reminded her. She ignored it and spoke to Arrow instead. "Don't worry! I'm sure they're alright, and I bet you'll find them, friend!" She said brightly. Trying to boost the dolphin's mood. She could tell that what had happened to his family was bothering him by the sudden pause he had done. It was rather obvious. Then he asked about her history. Lokee's mind raced and for a moment her speed faltered. What would she say? What would she do? She couldn't tell him about... the murder... he would swim away from her! Her thoughts stopped and she casually regained her former speed. Well... what did it matter? A lot... you don't want to lose him as a friend possibility. And why was that? She left the thought unanswered and began instead on her history. Well... a somewhat edited version of it. Me? I was born inside of captivity with my pod! It was my mother, my father, some other relatives of ours, and me!" Lokee lowered herself down in the water so her dorsal fin was below the surface again. She swam under the male dolphin and reappeared at Arrow's other side and immediately she began again on her narrative. The reason she had done that was to give herself time to think. She needed to know what to say to cover up her father's death... How about not mention it at all?"After a while, when I was a little older they decided to release me... just me and no other of my family! Maybe I'm just really lucky to get to taste freedom!" She grinned and continued on. "Later on, some Dissenters found me and I joined them. But their ways weren't really for me, so I joined this group and they picked me as an assassin!" She somersaulted happily. "And now, here I am!" She hoped that Arrow wouldn't mind that she was once a Dissenter but she could most likely easily put his mind at ease. She felt no loyalty to them anymore and would fight them as quickly as the need arose!

[atrb=background,http://i49.tinypic.com/2wo91jn.jpg] Arrow was slightly shocked about Lokee's history. But hey, who wouldn't be? Anyway, she was a Creed now. He had a feeling he could trust her. Arrow swam closer to Lokee so thta his fin brushed hers. They were swimming relatively close to the surface, occasionally taking gulps of fresh air. They swam in silence for a few minutes, but it felt like forever. Arrow liked to hear Lokee's cheerful, musical voice. She made him feel light as a feather. She was like the last puzzle pieced that clicked into his new life - she was just what he needed. A friend to tell his ideas and dreams to. He just knew he could trust her. With his life. Infact, she reminded him of his sister. He missed Star very much. He gazed into the distance. The sun's final rays were cast upon the two dolphins swimming side by side. He didn't want this day to end. "Lokee, it's been wonderful meeting you," Arrow said. "I hope you enjoyed this afternoon!" he added brightly. He wanted to do a thousand somersaults. "I have a feeling we will be great friends," he said. Then he happily leaped into the air and twisted around twice, finishing his move off by batting his tail on the water, sending splashes of salty sea spray all over Lokee and him.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true][bg=ffffff] When Lokee finished and the silence reigned she thought that Arrow was now untrusting of her... But for some reason it didn't feel like that. It seemed the opposite really. Why? She didn't know, it was just a feeling but feelings that you had could be right. Especially when it was a strong reigning one. A friendly glance to the side showed that Arrow seemed just as happy as she was. Good! She was happy that he was as well. Their brushing fins made her want to sing a happy song! Sing it out to the heavens! He had accepted her past... part of it... the important part, at least... Stop thinking about that, girl! She blinked and she did. Instead thinking about the dolphin next to her. She usually was one for talking, and not letting silence be the main priority when with someone but now... was different somehow. She couldn't place her flipper on it... but it was. Arrow seemed to be very good company when talking or otherwise. She wouldn't mind spending a lot of time with him, it would be fun! So, as the day started to wear down, the dusky dolphin held her peace. Not really wanting to say anything. The sun's rays cast brilliant light down below the surface as it sank below the horizon. Soon, the water was dark as night hit. "Lokee, it's been wonderful meeting you. I hope you enjoyed this afternoon! I have a feeling we will be great friends," Lokee watched the male dolphin's moves with a wide grin. Now here was someone she could definitely get along with! "It's been wonderful meeting you, as well! And I enjoyed talking with you and I know we'll be great friends!" With a few happy clicks she zoomed away from Arrow. What she was trying to do was build up some speed so she could leap extra high into the air. Aiming to try and equal or better Arrow's move. Watch this!

[/color] She called as she came back around Arrow's way. With her head aimed at the surface she leaped, never once breaking her fast speed.

She sailed through the air and somersaulted- once! Twice! Thrice! Then, she landed with her tail first so she could slap the water hard with a loud- Splash! Then, she was back in the water with a cloud of bubbles, giggling uncontrollably. "That was so much fun!"[/color] She squealed. Her ebony eyes located Arrow as she giggled and smiled. Quickly, she swam over to him and bumped her head against his playfully, although she was careful to avoid hitting her beak against him. Maybe he would want to play tag, or maybe even race! She hoped so...

It was a little tricky because the waves of course moved. As they shot through the water, a strange feeling overcame Arrow. It was warm and fuzzy, and his whole body tingled with excitement. Was he... in love? Arrow was very surprised. He had only known Lokee for a few hours. But it felt like they had been friends since they were calves. He watched as Lokee swam in the water beside him. The fading sunlight glinted on her beautifully patterned skin. Arrow wiggled his tail. He always did that when he was happy. He twisted around in the water, so that he turned upside down and then the right way round again. He did this several times. It was dark gray - his back - and then white - his belly. Gray, white, gray, white. It felt good to fell the rush of sea water churning around his body. The ocean had turned slightly darker in color. Now it was a rich, lush blue. Pretty, just like Lokee, Arrow thought. He knew he would dream about her tonight. "Lokee, I had so much fun today! Would you like to play again tomorrow?" He wanted her to say yes so badly he almost popped off his dorsal fin. He looked admiringly at Lokee, waiting for her to say something.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true][bg=ffffff] Lokee grinned and rolled sideways in the water. "A race! A race! I love races! Yes yes! Let's do that!" She said happily. She was so happy that Arrow had agreed to race, even when she hadn't even said it! Was that great communication or what? How exciting! Maybe they would be bestest friends! She had never had one of those before... it would be great! But don't you want more? The rogue thought made its way into her head. More? Like what? Mates? ...She had never even thought about that before... why had she now? She blinked and looked at Arrow. He seemed like a rather good-looking dolphin. His dark gray and white skin was striped so nicely. His eyes, which she hadn't paid much attention to before now, while they were black like her's they seemed to shine with intelligence. She almost didn't want to look away, that was until he took off through the water. Lokee was almost left in the dust-er, bubbles but with her quick speed she managed to catch up to him. Her eyes were locked on the waves which they were supposed to race to... that is, until she saw a glint of white from the corner of her eye. She glanced to the side and saw Arrow twisting around. She giggled as the different pattern of white and gray showed. It was a little mesmerizing if you looked for too long, which is what Lokee was doing. Her speed slowing without her completely knowing. However, she didn't even really care about the outcome of the race anymore. Forget the race! She just wanted to be with her new friend more. A thrill of happiness raced through her as she thought of spending the days with him. She was so glad that she joined the Creeds! "Lokee, I had so much fun today! Would you like to play again tomorrow?" Lokee turned a back-flip in the water, then she was so happy that she decided to turn another one. She bobbed her head up and down enthusiastically as she replied, "I did too! And of course, of course! I'd love to play again tomorrow! I'd love to play with you each and everyday!" She smiled from ear to ear as she gazed at her new-found friend.

He longed to swim over the waves with Lokee, talking about their secrets and other things, but he knew they might never know about each other's personal life. Did he really want to know her that well? He reached deep down inside himself and searched for an answer. Yes. He would. He WOULD like to be Lokee's mate, but did she want to be his? Maybe they would be together sometime... He pushed those feelings away and concentrated on the present. He flicked some sparkling droplets of water off his body and cleared his throat. "Great! I guess I'll see you tomorrow then." Arrow beamed at Lokee. He decided he needed to burn some energy. Lokee seemed to pour energy into him whenever they were close. Water burst from his spout as he swam in circles around Lokee. He would soon set off to somewhere he could stay for the night. It was already dark, and the sun had completely disappeared. Wait. Where WOULD he go for the night? He looked at Lokee watching him closely. "I think I'll head to the cliff caverns to get some rest," he said. "You can come if you like, unless you'd rather stay here. Good bye, Lokee." The Arrow brushed his tail over hers and sped away towards the caverns. He gave a wave of his tail, and vanished silently into the blue depths of the ocean. *i started a post in the cliff caverns. wanna join? it's when arrow goes to the caves for the night *
