++ ARROW ++
{{Basics}} Age: 12 Gender: Male Animal: Dolphin Species: Striped Sexual Orientation: Straight Alliance: Creeds Requested Rank: Second
{{Appearance}}
Build: Agile, quick, quite skinny, but muscular. Appearance: Arrow is a medium sized dolphin. His back, tail, fins and head are a sleek dark gray, and his belly is white. He has white swishes on his sides and tail. He also has streaks of pale gray on his fins, and as mentioned earlier, a white crescent moon shape on his left fin. Arrow has a slender but muscular body, which he uses to propel himself forward with the slightest ease. When the sun's rays glint on his skin, sometimes he appears blueish and gold. His fins are perfect triangles, balancing him as he propels himself through the water. He has a content looking face and inquisitive black eyes that reveal his intelligence and curiosity. Arrow's eyes are often described as 'mesmerizing' and 'hypnotic'. Scars: Moon shaped scar on left fin.
{{Personality}}
Positive traits: Sensible, Fun-loving, Compassionate, kind, understanding. Negative traits: stubborn, a bit of a daydreamer, and can be a little nasty when angry... Likes/Hobbies: relaxing, sunbathing, racing himself and inventing new cool swimming moves. Dislikes: Rude or negative animals, Fears: Storms Overall Personality: Arrow is strong minded and stubborn. When he is hot-headed, try to just go with the flow. If he decides on something, you probably can't stop him. If Arrow is angry, it is best to stay away from him, as he likes to be by himself and calm down. He likes friends and family to comfort him when he is upset. But when he wants something done, it will get done. It is easy to make friends with him as he is also compassionate and caring. He is smart and a quick learner, figuring thing out problems in short time. When he's feeling playful, he will speed through the water and jump about. When he's feeling calm, he will relax in the sun and let the water wash over him like a huge, cool blanket. Arrow enjoys floating peacefully in still waters, just thinking to himself. In rapids and waves, he makes the most of them as he leaps and surfs the currents. Arrow often thinks about his family and mourns silently. You know when he is sad because he will go quiet or swim away. Don't feel bad about this - even if you said something, he usually thinks about it late at night anyway. He won't be mad if someone accidentally offends him. If he suddenly stares at you, with a look of longing on his face, it is probably because you remind him of somebody he used to know. When Arrow is feeling particularly fun, he tells jokes and makes new swimming moves. He can be silly, but he has a serious side, too. He is good when stuck in tight spots, and doesn't panic often. He handles situations carefully and reasonably. It is also hard to make him angry as he is a naturally an easy-going dolphin. Like I said, Arrow is usually calm, peaceful, and seems older than he actually is. Perhaps he had a little to much fish one day... Arrow would be hyper. He would act like a child. Chasing himself and other animals round and round, laughing and spinning, Arrow is like a excited torpedo. Best stay out of his way, unless you want to be thrown around like a tennis ball. But all the same, he means well! He would like to have a best friend or mate to share his feelings with.
{{History}} Family: Father - Silver Mother - Maia Sister - Star (probably all deceased) History: Arrow doesn't remember much of his early life. Just flashbacks and faint memories now and then. But after thinking for a while, he remembers his story: "I was born on a peaceful evening, and took my first breath of air at sunset, looking at the golden clouds and lavender sky. My mother Maia was very kind and caring to me and my sister, Star. My father, Silver, was courageous and quick. Star was my best friend and my loyal companion, and I was the same to her. It was a beautiful life. Until one day..." The charcoal storm clouds advanced on the once quiet waters where Arrow and his pod swam. The rolling thunder vibrated in his body, and the freezing rain pierced his face like needles of ice. The ocean shook. His sister, Star, floated beside him in the water. "I'm scared, Arrow!" she said. "Don't be," he replied, brushing his tail against her side. "It will all be over soon." Arrow looked around him. He could see the rest of the pod, their heads bobbing in the pitch black water. He could see his father and mother leading the pod away from the rising storm. It was getting worse, and the pod had to find shelter before it was too late. He and his sister followed the pod. There was a rocky island in the distance. Would they make it in time? The dolphins now swam quickly, hoping to reach the island that seemed almost too far out of reach. They were almost at the island when disaster struck. A monster wave, 20 meters tall, crashes over them without a warning. Arrow was flung helplessly against the rocks. He felt a sharp stab of pain in his side. The water was red. Red with the blood of he and his pod-mates. He searched for his sister, in vain. There were cries of pain and sorrow all around him. Fortunately, Arrow only saw one limp body. Unfortunately, it was one of the dolphins who he loved and cared about the most: his mother. He struggled to swim across to her, only to find out that there were more big waves coming, blocking his way. "Goodbye, mother," he whispered. "I'll never forget you." He wailed despairingly and waited for his death to come. The last thing he saw was a huge, black wave swallowing the entire pod.
Arrow woke up in clear, bright blue water. He was in a sort of cave. The walls were white and scratched. How strange. He spotted another dolphin in his enclosure - someone he was overjoyed to see - Star! She was floating in a corner, her back to him. He swam up to her, calling her name. "Star, Star! It's me, Arrow!" When she finally turned around, he saw that it wasn't Star after all. It was just another Striped Dolphin. Arrow was crestfallen. "You're finally awake." The dolphin said. "I'm glad you are well." Then she noticed the look on Arrow's face. "I'm so sorry," she said softly, in her musical voice. "I'm not your sister. They didn't manage to save the rest of your pod." The female dolphin was very sympathetic. "No matter what, your family still loves you, and they are watching over you." She said. Arrow couldn't believe it - the family he loved and had been through thick and thin with - was gone. All gone. All he had left was shattered memories. As if she had read his mind, the other dolphin said, "You're lucky you had a loving family at all." She looked sad for a moment. Then she told him about where they were. "They - I mean the humans - brought you here, the rehabilitation center," she explained. Don't worry, they won't harm you. They are healing you. They put you in this pool, and it's completely safe and quiet - no storms of predators! This water you're in has a special medication in it that will help relax you and heal that nasty wound of yours. I'm supposed to keep you company." She nudged her snout towards Arrow's side. He tried to twist his head to look, but it hurt too much. "Ow!" he exclaimed. There was a glint of amusement in the other dolphin's eyes. "Take it easy," she said. "It'll be a few months until you're fully recovered!" She batted his non-injured side with her tail. "And by the way, my name is Ambrosia."
Arrow had a pretty uneventful life in the rehabilitation center. He spent the next couple of years chatting with Ambrosia, who was a great friend, eating juicy fish, and after his wound healed he was introduced to a bigger outdoor pool, with two more dolphins called Vinegar (the daring one) and Vegas (the feisty one). Vinegar and Vegas were used as display and show dolphins. Ambrosia was also used in shows sometimes, although she preferred just keeping company to the sick dolphins. All of the dolphins and were happy and friendly, so Arrow was much more healthier an happier very soon. He was grateful to his friends and also the good humans, who helped him recover and gain confidence. When Arrow turned 12, he was ready to be set free. He would miss his friends greatly, especially Ambrosia. It was a bittersweet goodbye and then Arrow was loaded onto the truck that would take him back to the ocean.
When they reached the sea, Arrow could smell the salty tang of ocean water. The men carried him to the beach, splashing water on him every few seconds. He breathed in the fresh air. It was good to be back. The humans pushed him out into the water. He gladly dived into the cold, refreshing sea and, with a subtle swish of his tail, propelled himself effortlessly through the water. The last the humans saw of him was a joyful wave goodbye of his tail, and then he was gone.
Arrow had a blast being free again. He chased waves, ate fish and just enjoyed himself. One day he bumped into a pretty spinner dolphin named Calypso, and they became good friends. She appointed him as Second in the Dolphin Section of the Creeds. Arrow was honored and promised to do his best. Now, he is a Creed and will fight for the good of the ocean!
